| Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan | Central Asia South Asia Regional Electricity Market Project | Project preparatory TA which will assess the economic and technical feasibility of electricity trade between Central Asia and South Asian countries through an initial project to export 100MW from Tajikistan/Kyrgyz Republic to Pakistan and Afghanistan. The project itself will support the Pakistan Government's strategy of increasing demand for electricity. The project will enable Tajikistan to earn revenues through better utilization of hydro electric resources and Afghanistan will be able to earn wheeling charges through the transmission line going through to Pakistan and have access to additional source of electricity. |

| Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan | Regional Gas Transmission Improvement Project | The long-term objective underlying the TA is to promote sustained economic growth through regional cooperation among five Central Asian countries - Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan - by eliminating technical and institutional bottlenecks and other barriers that constrain efficient operation and flow of natural gas, prevent energy trade, and impede rational use of the transmission system linking them. The objective of the TA is to assist the CARs to formulate a strategy to improve gas transmission, including policy, regulatory and institutional measures, and investment and action plans for implementing the strategy for promoting efficient gas trade in the region. |

| Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan | Feasibility study for a satellite monitoring and accident prevention system for the security of gas transport and storage infrastructures in the Russian Federation and the new independent states | The specific objectives of the project are the elaboration of a feasibility study for a satellite monitoring system for accident prevention and infrastructure surveillance in the gas sector of the Russian Federation and Newly Independent States, which could use ultimately the services provided by the European Satellite Navigation System “Galileo”1 and which could be integrated to the envisaged EU Observatory for hydrocarbon supplies security. |

| Kyrgyzstan | Talas-Taraz-Suusamyr Road Rehabilitation Project (supervision of road construction) | The principal objective of the Project was to complete rehabilitation of the road between Talas, Taraz and Suusamyr. The MNT Consulting in consortium with TEAM International ascertained the technical viability, economic feasibility and environmental and social soundness for rehabilitating the road as well as supervision of the road construction. Provided assistance in engineering design and contract documentation. Consortium reviewed the ongoing transport sector policy reform and institutional strengthening initiatives undertaken by the Government and developed a new policy agenda to provide the basis for enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the sector. |

| Tajikistan | Dushanbe - Kyrgyz Border Road Rehabilitation Project (Phase II) | The objective of the TA is to prepare the Project which aims to improve sections of the road running from Dushanbe northeast to the border with the Kyrgyz Republic that are not being rehabilitated under the ongoing Dushanbe-Kyrgyz Border Road Rehabilitation Project, Phase I (Loan 2062-TAJ (SF)), as well as rural roads feeding into the Project road. |

| Kazakhstan | Energy Sector Study | The objective of the TA is to formulate a strategy for sustainable Energy sector development for guiding future investments in the Energy sector that will improve Energy supply to remote areas. The TA will consist of the formulation of the Energy sector strategy based on an assessment of the (i) Energy sector studies financed by other aid agencies; (ii) a review of Energy sector policies, institutional frameworks and regulations; and (iii) existing government plans and strategies. A broad framework will be established to assess the scope to improve Energy supply system reliability and efficiency, determine the priorities for rehabilitation and maintenance, and promote decentralized renewable Energy development. |
