Kyrgyzstan Vocational Educational Training project The scope of work of local experts’ involvement was the following: identification of enterprises in construction building, metal processing and other relevant industrial and service sectors for training need analysis (TNA). Delivery of TNAs (interviews, data collection and analysis) – the number of TNAs will still be agreed. Tajikistan Municipal Fund for the Promotion of Basic Education and Community Infrastructure The program’s overriding goal is to contribute towards the strengthening of the poor population’s human resources by improving their development opportunities and capacities for self-help.The program goal is to improve access to functional and sustainable social infrastructure for poor population groups. At the same time, it is intended that the community driven approach will enhance the participation of such poor population groups in political processes through the inclusion of their representatives in the entire program and in all stages of individual program measures. 2005-2008 KfW
Kazakhstan Education Sector Development Strategy The main objective of the TA is to update the comprehensive education and training sector review completed in 1995/1996 to identify key sector issues and priorities and to contribute to strengthening the Government’s education sector development strategy, review covering preschool, basic education (general secondary), tertiary education, and TVET. 2003-2004 ADB
Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Uzbek Sub-regional Cooperation in Managing Education Reforms The project encouraged the sharing of experiences of achieving educational reform, the problems that arose and communicating good management practice. It promoted cooperation at national and sub-regional policy level amongst the six countries of Trans Caucasus and Central Asia Region. 2001-2002 ADB
Kyrgyzstan-Tajikistan-Uzbekistan Central Asia Regional HIV/AIDS Project Design Phase Company was involved in a 3-month design phase of the above project. Its purpose was to ensure effective implementation of comprehensive national HIV/AIDS programs focusing on prevention, specifically harm reduction activities, and support in achieving the UN's "three-ones" strategy. The DFID project supported both an enhanced regional response to HIV/AIDS in Central Asia, as well as specific support to the national programs in Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. Project activities: (i) provide flexible and responsive TA supporting a harmonized approach in the region supporting the UN principles of one national body, one national program and one national monitoring system; (ii) directly support the implementation of national harm reduction programs building on the capacity of civil society and national systems (in Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan); and (iii) liaise effectively with the World Bank on design and implementation of their regional program, ensuring alignment of efforts in relation to DFID's project. 2004-2005 DFID
Tajikistan Support to the Establishment of a Model Day-Care Centre for Disabled Children

The global objective of the project is to assist the beneficiary country in the development of alternative solutions to traditional institutional care for disabled children.

Following activities were provided by the consultant:

  1. Assist with the development of the legal, organizational framework as well as financial and institutional capacity required for the establishment of a day-care centre;
  2. Organization and sustain a working group with parents’ associations, NGOs, professionals, students of the Pedagogical Institute’s Department of “Defectology” and government officials on the creation of a model day care centre in Dushanbe;
  3. Development guidelines and curriculum, provide training materials and literature in Russian and Tajik on methodology to set up and manage day care centers and on modern therapy methods.
  4. Delivering technical training to parents’ association, local NGOs, students and current professionals of the health system involved with disabled children on modern methods of therapy, physical and occupational rehabilitation.
  5. Development an advocacy strategy for the government’s expert group, NGOs, students, medical professionals and parents’ associations on inclusive education and alternative care structures for disabled children;
  6. Organization a study tour for the government, NGOs and professionals involved with disabled children.
