CAIConsulting in consortium with the Italian consulting company CESI S.P.A. is implementing the project of the Asian Development Bank “Rehabilitation of the Toktogul HPP. Phase 2 ".
In December 2019, CAIConsulting in a consortium with the Italian consulting company CESI S.P.A. launched the project of the Asian Development Bank “Rehabilitation of Toktogul HPP. Phase 2 ". The purpose of this project is to develop a Master Plan for the Energy Sector of the Kyrgyz Republic, which will determine the general condition of the mentioned sector and contribute to its sustainable development. The projects identified under the Master Plan will improve energy security and efficiency, and expand transmission and generation schemes in the Kyrgyz Republic.
The Asian Development Bank is funding the preparation of the Master Plan to develop: (i) sector and subsector demand forecasts; (ii) policy assessments to ensure energy security and efficiency; (iii) assessing investment alternatives to meet demand forecasts, including the construction of new generation and transmission facilities and proposed import and export projects; and (iv) training for the SCIESU and employees of OJSC National Energy Holding Company (NEHC) to acquire the necessary knowledge to update the Master Plan in the future.
The project is currently in the process of developing a generation and distribution expansion plan. Completion of the ADB project “Rehabilitation of Toktogul HPP.Phase 2” is planned for July this year.
