Within the framework of “Support to VET Reform Project in Uzbekistan. Inception Phase”, workshops were held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

 

The first workshop was held on June 25, 2021, in the hotel Radisson. The participants were the project's key stakeholders such as the Ministry of Higher Secondary Specialised Education, The State Inspectorate on Quality Control of education, Ministry of Employment and Labour, the Institute of Pedagogical Innovation, Retraining and Advanced Training of Leading and Pedagogical Personnel of Professional Education under the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and the Chamber of Commerce. The meeting was attended by a representative from the Swiss embassy. The aim of the meeting was to present the first outline of the intervention logic, the initial work packages, and the list of key activities.  The workshop was also attended by the Swiss expert from SFIVET who made a presentation on key features of the TVET system in Switzerland, including the industry sector, sectoral ministries, and VET schools’ management. 

 

The second meeting with stakeholders was held on July 27, 2021. The participants were the same project's key stakeholders and the representative from the Swiss embassy. The aim of the meeting was to present the work plan for Phase 1 and collect stakeholders' feedback for the finalization of the ProDoc. 

 The presentations were made on key activities planned under four main Outcome areas (Governance, Quality Control System, Teachers' training and Involvement of the private sector in VET) to give an understanding of the project approaches for achievement of expected results. 

 

The Project started in March 2021. The main objective is to provide support for VET reforms in Uzbekistan.
